Status

IEEE Student Branch MMCOE is a chartered IEEE student branch hosted at Marathwada Mitra Mandal's College of Engineering, Karvenagar, Pune, and operates under IEEE Pune Section in IEEE Region 10. It was inaugurated on 23 May 2020. The branch is a volunteer body of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; it is not a separate legal entity and does not hold funds independently of the host institution's procedures.

Branch counselor

The branch counselor is Mrs. Shubhada Mone, Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering Department. The counselor is an IEEE member appointed by the institution and is the point of accountability between the student officers, the college, and IEEE Pune Section. Concerns that cannot be resolved with the student committee should be raised with the counselor at shubhadamone@mmcoe.edu.in.

Officer roles

Officers serve for one academic year. The roles below describe the duties attached to each position; the people currently holding them are listed on the team page.

Chairperson

Leads the branch, chairs executive committee meetings, and is accountable to the branch counselor and IEEE Pune Section for the annual plan and reporting.

Vice Chairperson

Deputises for the chair, coordinates programme delivery, and oversees society/affinity group liaison.

Secretary

Keeps minutes and the membership roll, and files the branch's activity reports.

Treasurer

Maintains branch accounts, records income and expenditure for each activity, and prepares the annual financial summary for the counselor.

Webmaster

Maintains this website and the branch's IEEE web presence, and keeps published information accurate.

Not every role is filled every year. The branch also appoints activity leads (for example event management and social media) as the programme requires.

Elections and transition

The executive committee for the next academic year is selected towards the end of the current one, from students who hold current IEEE membership and have participated in branch activities. The outgoing committee hands over records, accounts and access with the counselor present. Officer changes are reported to IEEE Pune Section and reflected on this website.

Reporting

The branch is expected to record its activities and submit an annual report through IEEE's reporting system. Published reports appear on the reports page. Where no report has been published yet, that page says so rather than linking to a placeholder file.

Code of conduct

Branch activities follow the IEEE Code of Ethics and the IEEE Code of Conduct, and the host institution's rules for student activities. Harassment or discrimination at a branch event should be reported to the counselor, and may also be raised directly with IEEE.
